With just about an entire straight week of rain, I haven’t ridden very much – three times actually. The first time, my friend Cheryl talked me into going out in the rain with her but it was a non-productive ride. We were soaking wet in a matter of minutes.

Shoulder In
Shoulder in must be done CORRECTLY to obtain its benefits. Many riders think they're doing it right, but have little bend, turning it into a leg yield instead. Leg yielding is useful for suppleness, but lacks the engaging & collecting effect of a true shoulder in. Learn how to do it correctly here!

Building Horse and Rider Confidence
Confidence is crucial in Eventing. If you or your horse don't believe you can do something, you most likely won't be able to do it, even if you are capable. A solid foundation with good basics builds confidence levels. Many riders are pleasantly surprised to find out they CAN do it.

Question # 20: How can you tell if your horse is spooking because she is genuinely scared, vs. spooking as an evasion to the aids? And, what do you do about it? (Cheryl)
