When negotiating rolling terrain, you must make the balance change in your position just *before* your horse has begun the downhill slope. If you wait untill the first stride of the downhill slope to make your position change (hips back, stretch up a bit), you could be caught out of balance, which can be hard to recover from. And can negatively effect the horse's balance as well.
